Streisand and Michel Assouline win Hickstead Medium Masters Championship !

Michel Assouline and Streisand, a Westphalian mare by Showstar (owned in partnership with Mr and Mrs Wyatt) headed a large class of 31 finalists to win the Medium Masters Championship at the Hickstead CDIO meeting on 72.60% (28 July 2010). Dolcino and Michel Assouline were also 4th in the British Young Horse Championship final. (Video clip shown above). Dolcino is a five year old Hanoverian by Di Maggio/ Rubinstein and is owned by Mr and Mrs Porter of Majorca, Spain.

 

   

 

 

Double win for Dolcino at the Hickstead Premier League!

 

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Porter's Dolcino, a five year old Hanoverian by Di Maggio/ Rubinstein won with Michel Assouline both the 5 year old International and 5 year old National tests on 83% and 85.60%. Richard Barrett and Fiona Bigwood took 2nd and 3rd place. Laura Bechtolsheimer and Vicky Thomson-Winfield both won the National and International 6 year old tests respectively. (26 June)

 

   

Hickstead Premier League

 

Mette Assouline is continuing her form and won the highly contested Prix Saint Georges at the Hickstead Premier League (26 June) with her's and Marc Auerbach's 8 year old Wesphalian stallion Forrest Gump on a score just under 70%. They were also highly placed in the Intermediaire I. Rebecca Drane also won the Young Rider Individual test with 68.42% on Alan Drane and Mette Assouline's Enzian.

 

   

Hickstead Premier League: Luderitz's first attempt at Grand Prix!

 

Antonio Da Silva's Luderitz, a ten year old Holsteiner took 3rd place with Michel Assouline in the Intermediaire II with just under 67%. It was Ludo's second outing at the level. They were also placed in the Grand Prix with 64% which was their first attempt at the level. (26 June)

 

   

 

 

Wellington Premier League

 

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Porter's Dolcino, a five year old Hanoverian by Di Maggio won with Michel Assouline the International class at the Wellington Premier League on 75%. It was Dolcino's first outing of the season. He was also 3rd in the highly contested Potential International Young Horse class on 82%; the top three horses were on very close scores with Daniel Greenwood and Richard Barrett in 1st and 2nd places. (8 June)

 

   

Forrest Gump wins Inter I at Hickstead!

 

Mette Assouline is continuing her form and won the Intermediaire I at Hickstead (9 June) with her's and Marc Auerbach's 8 year old Wesphalian stallion Forrest Gump. The stallion showed more confidence and earned 70.59%. Kirsty Mepham and Fiona Bigwood were respectively in 2nd and 3rd place.  Michel Assouline also won on first attempt the Intermediare II on Mr Antonio Da Silva's Luderitz a 10 year old Holsteiner on 66%.

 

   

 

Assouline Dressage Feivel-AD wins Hickstead Masters League semi final at Wix Equestrian Centre!

 

Michel Assouline and Feivel-AD retained their form following four wins at three competitions in May with all score in the seventies. 17.3 hands Feivel impressed the judges by his presence and suppleness, and won the Medium Open semi-final on 70.84% (5 June).

Mette Assouline wins Inter II at Hickstead on Forrest Gump!

 

Mette Assouline won at first attempt the Intermediaire II at Hickstead (22 May) with her's and Marc Auerbach's 8 year old Wesphalian stallion Forrest Gump; it is the stallion's first outing at Grand Prix level and although it was not a mistake free test Forrest produced some impressive piaffe passage work. Michel Assouline won the Medium qualifier with 71.47%  at Wix Equestrian Centre (15 June) on Feivel-AD, a 7 year old Hanoverian.

 

   

 

Assouline Dressage's horses win four classes at Wix Equestrian Centre!

Mette Assouline is continuing her outstanding form with her's and Marc Auerbach's 8 year old Wesphalian stallion Forrest Gump; she won the Prix Saint Georges class on 72.11% at the 28th March Wix Dressage show. Michel won the Advanced Medium qualifier on 69.89% with Sonnege (pictured left) and took second place behind Mette in Prix Saint Georges (66.82%) which was Sonny's first start at the level. Another successful clinic with Edward Gal's trainer Nicole Werner at Brickhouse Farm.

Nicole Werner came back to Brickhouse Farm on 7 March to give a two day clinic.  She taught a number of riders throughout both days on horses working from Prix St George up to Grand Prix and focused with each rider on developing more sensitivity and responsiveness from their horses and in so doing, developing a quieter yet more effective riding style. Some professional trainers took part in the riding sessions and twelve World Class coaches of development riders were given the opportunity to watch training on the 2nd day.

Nicole (picture left with Michel Assouline) conducted a very successful clinic at Brickhouse Farm on November 10th. Nicole is well known as being Edward's trainer and manager; In fact 1998 was Edward's stardom debut on Nicole's Grand Prix horse Gestion Kappuccino. Riders in the clinic included members of the World Class program and 6 of the 9 participants were working at Inter II/Grand Prix level. Top trainers also came to watch the event. Nicole is coming back to Brickhouse Farm on 8 March 2010 (see clinic details on right hand side).

 

   

Team Gold for Great Britain!

Michel Assouline (squad coach) and David Hunter (chef d’équipe) led Team GB Para-Equestrian Dressage to victory at the 2009 European Championships in Norway (Aug '09).

Their team won team gold and came home with a total of 11 medals. In the team competition all qualifying scores were well above 70%. But the highlight this year was Sophie Wells (pictured left) who won 3 gold medals in Grade 4, a historical first for Great Britain at this very difficult level.

Germany won team silver and Holland team bronze.

 

   

 

Streisand is Hickstead Medium Master League Reserve Champion 2009

Michel Assouline and Streisand, a 7 year old Westphalian mare by Showstar (owned in partnership with Mr and Mrs Wyatt of AV8 Ltd) are the reserve champions of the highly contested Medium Master League Championship at the Hickstead CDIO meeting on 71.30% (21July 2009). She followed closely on the footsteps of a relative, Gary Williams's stallion Showmaker also by Showstar.

 

 

   

 

Triple win at Wix Equestrian Centre

Michel Assouline and Streisand, a 7 year old Westphalian mare by Showstar (owned in partnership with Mr and Mrs Wyatt) had a double win in the Medium classes (69.80%) at Wix Equestrian Centre on 16 May 2009. Michel also won the Intermediare II with Wolfgang AD, a 12 year old Hanoverian owned by Mrs Lathuilliere. It was their first attempt at the level, and their first outing this year as Wolfgang suffered earlier from a viral infection.

Forrest Gump wins at Wix Equestrian Centre

Mette Assouline and Forrest Gump an 8 year old stallion by Florestan, owned in partnership with Marc Auerbach, won

the Prix Saint Georges qualifier at Wix Equestrian Centre on 16 May with 70.10%. Mette felt Forrest was very settled in the test and felt more grown-up so she was able to show his true potential.

The College Premier League

Congratulations to Sondra Darnborough for winning  the novice (71%) and the elementary (68%) with Columbia. Sondra bought Columbia a 5 year old Hanoverian mare with an outstanding temperament from Assouline Dressage two years ago. (24 April 2009)

 

   

National Winter Championships

Congratulations to Nicola Mahoney and Bel Ami for winning the Advanced Medium restricted National Championship at Hartpury College on 9 April 2009! Nicola headed the class all the way through with a good lead and a high percentage just short of 70% Mette Assouline found Bel Ami a 9 year old Hanoverian by Brentano two years ago for Nicola who has been training since at Brickhouse Farm with Michel. She recently also won on first attempt a Prix Saint Georges test at Wix Equestrian Centre with 68%.

Eastern Winter Regionals

Mette Assouline took second place with Forrest Gump on a high score of more than 70% in the open Advanced Medium Championship at Patchetts Equestrian Centre on 9 February 2009. Forrest Gump is an 8 year old Wesphalian stallion by Florestan at stud at Brickhouse Farm and is jointly owned by Mark Auerbach and Mette Assouline. Gemma Green was the winner with Fine Time IV.

 

 

   

 

Eastern Winter Regionals

Michelle Braybrook's Diva a 5 year old mare by De Niro is the 2008 British Hanoverian Performance Champion with Elite Candidate Status. At the British Hanoverian Grading she also won the Akkor Cup as best 5 year old mare and the coveted Alan Akehurst trophy as overall 'Supreme Champion'. (pic caption: Diva is British Hanoverian Champion!) Diva was bought and produced from a foal to a ridden 4 year old by Assouline Dressage.

 
 
   
Team GB Gold

2008 Beijing Paralympics-Gold for Team GB!

Michel Assouline (squad coach) and David Hunter (chef d’équipe) led Team GB Para-Equestrian Dressage to victory at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics Games.

Their team won team gold and came home with a total of 10 medals, an incredible 5 gold and 5 silver. In the team competition all qualifying scores were well above 70% which was a historical first.

Germany won team silver and Norway team bronze.

At the College Equestrian Centre on 3rd August Mette Assouline and Forrest Gump won the open Medium qualifier, were 2nd in the Medium open Championship and placed in the Advanced Medium Championship. Michel Assouline and Wolfgang AD were 3rd in the Intermediare I Championship.

Congratulations to Emma Zwetsloot for a great competition debut with Louis Feraud.

Emma bought Louis last year from Assouline Dressage and has been competing at Prix Saint Georges as shown in the photo taken at the College Equestrian Centre in May 2008.

Okke Krol, a British Dressage apprentice for almost three years now at Assouline Dressage won the Petplan Prix Saint Georges winter championship in Hartpury on 18 April 2008 on Jane Mc Garel Groves's Dream Maker (Donnerhall).

Mette Assouline was in good form on their first trip abroad with Enzian. Their won the Inter II class and qualified for the Grand Prix Special to finish in 7th place at the Saumur CDI in France.

After a good Grand Prix Louis Feraud and Michel Assouline qualified for the Grand Prix Freestyle at the Saumur CDI, France and finished in 8th place. It was Louis's first trip abroad and they scored 65.80 per cent.

Demi-Jour and Sondra Darnborough are the 2007 Preliminary national champions. They won in good form with a mark of 71.55 per cent on 16 September at the British Dressage National Championships in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.A month before they have won for the second year running the Preliminary Regional Championship at The College. Demi-Jour is a five year old Hanoverian by Di Maggio owned jointly by Jane Mc Garel Grove and Mr and Mrs Assouline's. DJ is based and in training at the Assouline's Brickhouse Farm.

Forrest Gump is Reserve-Champion at BD Young Horse Championships!

Forrest Gump and Mette Assouline were placed second at Addington on 11 July in the difficult 6 year old international class. In the evening semi-final they finished on 80.20 per cent retaining their second place just a wisker behind Jane Gregory and Soul Sister.

Michel Asssouline won the Intermediaire I qualifier at Hickstead on 15 June 2007. Michel's new ride is Wolfgang-AD a 9 year old Hanoverian gelding by Warkant.

Wolfgang-AD is owned jointly by Rolande Lathuilliere and Assouline Dressage. Rolande had previously been a sponsor of Dominique d'Esme, a succesful French international rider. It was Wolfgang's first outing at the level. [photo by Andrew Gilham]

Congratulations to Daniel Sheriff with his win on Davino. They took the international 6 year old class at Patchetts Equestrian Centre. Davino is owned by Claire and David Seaman who bought Davino from Assouline Dressage as a rising 4 year old. [May 2007]

Forrest Gump a 6 year old Wesphalian stallion by Florestan won the 6 year old international qualifier at Oldencraig Equestrian Centre on 11 May with Mette Assouline.

Mette was very impressed with his attitude and temperament in his very first competition ever.

Forrest is licensed in Germany and with the British Warmblood Society.

Okke Krol, a BD apprentice at the Assouline-Dressage yard won 4 classes at Towerlands on 16 August.

He took the Elementary open on his own 7 year old Sunnieboy (by Emma Hinddle's team stallion Lancet), both Advanced Mediums on Jane Mc Garel Groves's Dream Maker (Donnerhall) and the open Novice with Nicky Hedin's Oda (Dutchwarmblood). Both Nicky and Jane are in training with Michel and Mette.

Louis wins Hickstead Dressage Masters Championship.

Michel and Louis Feraud won the big tour Dressage Master League Championship at the Hickstead CDIO meeting on 27 July. They were 3rd in the Grand Prix and took the Grand Prix Freestyle class to become the overall 2006 champions.
